MY WORTHY WOMAN, Dan Mayfield My woman gives life. She is about building up and not tearing down. She sees with an eye of possibility. Plants, dogs, children, especially children, have been prepared for life by my womans tiny and gentle hands. She is small but she is not weak. Half the size of her man but she could be a ferocious opponent if someone tries to harm the child in her care. She is unselfish. She is not materialistic. She is thoughtful. She will give and give. She makes peace without compromising herself. She always acts with wisdom. She is not perfect, but she is more perfect than me. Her faith is deep as the ocean trench. Her prayers are the ones the Almighty looks forward to hearing each day. There are a few things in this life that are truly valuable. My womans gentle and quiet spirit is precious to Him, 1Pt 3:4. I am amazed at her. This woman of mine is very very much like the woman described in Proverbs 31. Indeed, 10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.... 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. 26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: 29 “Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” 30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. My God has done a wonderful thing to bring this good woman into my life. No one can say I dont have a degree of wisdom, some might think it luck, that after 35 years we are together and more in love than ever. That this woman and I have been together since we were teens is a testament that God works. Many blessings from God have come through my woman. She speaks wisdom. She is kind to me. She is my friend when other friends turn away. I suspect there are many worthy women out there. I have known them because I have seen the fruit of their lives touching others. Their husbands are stronger Christians, better daddies, more industrious, and kinder people because of their women. Mary was a worthy woman. God choose her to be the hands that tenderly cared for His son. Jesus received the gift of a woman who nurtured, protected, and guided Him to spiritual maturity. Joseph undoubtedly was a powerful influence to Jesus, as he to had great faith, but Mary treasured in her heart all of the possibility of Jesus. A mother is indispensable in Gods plan. We all love baby Jesus. But Mary was the first. And the tiny boy was in good hands. When the man was just a little boy, the woman was faithfully attending to her child. The man will forget many things but he will never forget the love of his mother. He has a stronger faith because of her. Because of her he is a better husband to his wife and father to his children. The world should rise up to honor the worthy woman. The young men and young women should all rise up to honor her. Anything less would be the very definition of injustice. Because to know her is to be in the company of something wonderful. She is a gift. The godly woman is Gods gift to men. He is unwise who has caused such a woman to leave him. Be faithful to her. Honor her or God will not look kindly on you, 1Pt 3:7. Watch her plants grow. Watch her doggie that sticks close to her side. See her grandchildren who think about her beautiful face every day. With so much of the divine nature in her (2Pt 1:4), this woman is the work of God. Oh Hazel, I love you. Merry Christmas, Sweetheart.
