John Pieri $19,450 a month is the going room and board rate billed to Medicare on the Geriatric wards. The beds in the new hospitals ring in at $400,000.00 each to establish these upgraded facilities. This is a token case , no one is admitting responsibility,they know the patients physical health in complete detail but always justify their neglect by claiming lack of resources, under staffing! He could have ben released decades ago, but, they need chronics for income security! This settlement is more evidence of the insanity of our system. All the money spent on this case could have bought his whole family a full time cardiologist, on a permanent cruise ship cruising around the world for the past 15 years.
