@Macdonald Odimara wrote Yesterday As an indigene of Akabo in Ikeduru Local Government Area,(the hometown of Hon Bethel Amadi), I feel constrained to react to some of the posts by paid agent who are out to deceive the unsuspecting readers who have been are targeted with a lot of lies and misinformation . Interestingly, one of such posts acknowledged the existence of the Akabo Health Center which was the venue of Hon Amadis Free Medical Mission , where over 3,000 of his constituents received free medical care from major surgical operations to Eye (cataract) surgery, only two months ago. I even watched the program on NTA and saw a lot of poor people who benefited from it praying for Hon Amadi. I am not surprised that in their blind mission to castigate Hon Amadi, they failed to notice the new classroom block thirty meters away from the Health Centre for Amii Community Primary School attracted by Hon Amadi. They also failed to mention the ongoing NDDC road project right in front of the Health Center. In Akabo, the late parents of Hon Amadi were our foremost educationists and that was why he built a new classroom block at Akabo High School in their memory, which was recently dedicated by the Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese, Rt Rev Emma Maduwuike. The newly completed and equipped ultra modern ICT Center at the same Akabo High School is further evidence for such people who are specialists in Pull Him Down (Phd). In Akabo Ward, Hon Amadi has attracted several rural electrification projects located at St Stephens Anglican Church Amii , Orie Uzi, Ama John Umuiyi, St Michael Catholic Church Orie Akabo, Amaudara Abazu, Amuzu Abazu. I am glad that some of the posts mentioned the completed Solar powered borehole water at Orie Uzi , Akabo but they failed to mention the other completed water projects in Umudurueke Amii Akabo and Nkwo Abazu attracted by Hon Amadi for Akabo people. I am also aware that working with Youth Associations in Akabo Ward, Hon Amadi has carried out several empowerment schemes alongside the revolving loan scheme for Akabo Abazu Women Association. He has supported many Akabo indigenes in business and I personally know about ten Akabo indigenes driving cars bought by Hon Amadi. Hon Amadi has helped many Akabo indigenes to secure employment in several Government Agencies and parastatals and in the private sector . Hon Amadi ,who is a Knight of the Anglican Church has supported many of the Churches in Akabo, just as many Akabo children continue to benefit from his scholarship programmers. Three years ago, the Akabo Youth football team were the winners of his MBAIKE Football competition. As an Akabo indigenes, I will not stand by and watch paid hackers rewrite history all in an attempt to rubbish Akabos foremost politician who has placed Akabo on the global stage by becoming the first Nigerian to be elected President of the Pan African Parliament. I was proud when I recently watched a news report of Hon. Bethel Amadi addressing European and African Heads of State summit held in Brussels last month. I am even surprised that Hon Amadi has indicated interest to run for Governor of Imo State when in my opinion he should be on the National stage. Intelligent, well educated, humble, accessible and down to earth, Hon Amadi is one politician with integrity who shuns the unbridled greed and wealth acquisition tendencies of his contemporaries who arrogantly display stolen wealth. Although I am not in a position to respond to issues about his private life which I am sure he can do for himself, I do know that most Akabo people are proud of their son. My candid advise to those writers some of who claimed to have campaigned for Hon Amadi and have not been settled, is to find a better way to reach him than to drag Akabo people into his personal vendetta.
