Mail Carriers Whats that figure in our land Thats seen from day to day? And whats so precious in his hands That hes there, come what may? Shes in the rain, but no one cares. He trudges through the snow. She battles heat, with no fresh air. But on and on they go. With faithfulness and settled pride They carry out their rounds, Throughout our nations countryside, Her cities, and her towns. So whats that figure daily seen In Americas streets and lanes? Her mail delivered, in between Her comforts and her pains. Her economic engine toils, And grinds from dawn to dawn. Mail carriers are like the oil That keeps it running on. Jim Hatcher
