Major news after the state election in Victoria. The Greens have at least one lower house seat; I am still really hoping for two. No offence to Clem Newton-Brown (in Prahran), whom the gay community is quite fond of. Hes not a bad Liberal. Still, cant help feeling a little disappointed. We were in the hunt for five lower house seats in all. Anyway, this is Victorias, and I think, Australias, first Green representative in a state Lower House, so it is a very significant first step. And the extra support from voters will translate into an unprecedented amount of Greens in the Upper House. Thats what we like to see, baby! Go Greens!
