Man City Transfer Focus - Pellegrini shaping squad with Cardozo and Matuidi targets https://facebook/manchesterisb #mcfc #mcfcnews #manchesterisblue Manchester City have been warned that their latest transfer target Oscar Cardozo will not come cheaply. The Benfica striker has a release clause in his contract of around £51m and the Portuguese outfit do not seem to be in a rush to offload the Paraguayan. The Daily Mirror have reported that City are looking to strengthen their options at the top of the field after losing Carlos Tevez to Juventus last week. The formidable front man has bagged 106 goals in his 160 appearances for Benfica after signing for the Reds for around £9m in 2007, 17 of those strikes coming in last year’s campaign. However City will face competition for the Paraguayan international after a proposed move to Fenerbahce fell through, Premier League new comers Cardiff City have also emerged as shock bidders. However if City cannot temp Cardozo to the Etihad the Daily Express are reporting that they will turn their attention to Roma hit man Pablo Osvaldo. But they face competiton should they choose to go down this route as well with Atletico Madrid heading a list of clubs around Europe vying for the Italian’s services as they look to fill the crater-like void left in their attacking line by the departure of Radamel Falcao. The Sky Blues also appear keen on bringing in Paris Saint-Germain’s defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi. The Frenchman’s PSG contract runs out in 2014 and now TalkSport are reporting that the youngster has enlisted the services of Mino Raiola, the man best known for masterminding the megabucks transfer history of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in order to get Matuidi a move away from Paris. City are known to be admirers of Matuidi and his defensive mindset would fit into their new 4-3-3 formation well. However one defensive player who may be heading out of the Etihad is Micah Richards, with The Mirror labelling the full-back as one of the most wanted players of this summer. One club who are rumoured to be chasing the England international are Arsenal as they look for options to replace Bacary Sagna, should the Frenchman favour a move back to his homeland. As the Citizens shake up continues it would seem as though the defence is an area that will need strengthening in the not too distant future, as The Express are reporting that another defender eyeing the Etihad exit door is Aleksander Kolarov. The Serb has been linked with both Inter and Juventus in recent weeks but now the 27-year-old has also emerged as a target for Turkish giants Galatasaray who have offered an initial £1.25m to take the player on loan with the option to buy for £5m. Elsewhere, the Daily Mail are claiming that City and Chelsea are ready to go head-to-head for the signature of Sporting Lisbon winger Bruma. The 18-year-old has been the subject of the Sky Blue’s gaze for a while but as yet have been unwilling to pay the £8m plus add-ons wanted by the Portuguese club.
