Man!! That was some good teaching! I learned so much!! I have 4 Pages of Notes!!! LOL! Its hard for me to sum it up for you. But, basically I learned about the new covenant in the new testament that God made with the house of Israel (Hebrews 8:10) This Covenant says that he will put the laws in our minds and write them on our hearts, Unlike the old Covenant that was written on stone, these cannot be broken by man. The Power of your Christianity needs to be based on your relationship with Jesus and not just on religion or knowing/memorizing the scriptures, as the Pharisees did. But, be as the people who Paul spoke to. They were Illiterate so all they could do was believe in the unseen and go by what they heard Paul teach, and they were blessed by their Faith, not by their works!! In Hebrews 6:18-19 the Bible says that by two immutable (unchanging) things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil. (Which basically means that for those who believe in God and have fled to him for refuge and has put their hope in him for a change of life can hold steadily to that hope and use it as an anchor with faith that he will come thru for u!) The two Immutable Things r: He wont Change and He cannot lie! So u can trust his Word! 2 Timothy 2:13 says If we believe not, yet abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself (which means, that even if we are faithless, do not believe and are untrue, he still will remain true because he cannot deny himself.) Phillipians 1:6 says: Being confident of this very thing , that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Which is sooo awesome because it is saying that if Jesus has begun a work in you, he will continue to work in you until the coming of Jesus. Which means that even if u r not perfect, he will still continue to work in you. He cannot lie and He will not change!!) I also learned that when the Bible says Wide is the path that leads to destruction and Narrow is the path that leads to life, the wide path is referring to people who say that they will take it into their own self efforts to try and please god, and to do other things that they think they can do without God. The narrow path is referring to people who have faith in the unseen, believe in an Invisible God and you have to follow him and you dont know where he is going to lead you. This is why people sin MORE when they try to keep the Law. The law was meant for you to not be able to keep the commandments on your own, it was impossible. But, under grace, sin has no dominion over you. That is why it is so important for everyone to make an effort to come to the Lord, make it your custom. Ask God to make you hungry and thirsty for the word. Also remember this: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers you from them all! (Which means, that life will be harder for you because you are a believer of Jesus Christ. You will have trials and tribulations but God Almighty will deliver you from them all and He will get the Glory because there will be no way for u to do it on your own, and then u will know that it was he who brought u out!!! Glory to God!! Praise His Holy Name!! Hallelujah!
