Man charged over alleged domestic-related assault - St Marys A man will appear in court next week following an alleged domestic-related assault in Sydney’s west. About 2pm on Sunday 15 June 2014, emergency services responded to reports of an injured woman at a party in Champness Street, St Marys. It will be alleged a man hit a woman in the head with a bottle, causing her to fall to the ground, hit her head and lose consciousness. The woman was taken to Nepean Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition. Police arrested a 57-year-old man at the scene and took him to Penrith Police Station. He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm (domestic violence), and granted conditional bail to appear in Mount Druitt Local Court on 23 June 2014. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information that may assist police is urged to contact St Marys Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
