Man, my song Tapestry is like my Star Wars. I cant get happy with the mix, I constantly want to revise it and fix it and go all George Lucas on it. I think I need to distance myself from it for a couple of months then maybe I can put the true final touches on it. I should never have shown it to anyone until it was as perfect as I could get it. I know a lot of what I hear are things that people wont notice, because no one knows all the layers that are in that mix like I do, except maybe Michael, who was here for a lot of the recording and played some of the drum parts as well as his keyboards, but it still bothers me that its not where I want it to be. For some reason Im so attached to this piece that I care about the details of it like Ive never cared about a song before in my life....its maddening to not be able to put it down. I know Sara must be sick of hearing it blasting out of my studio for the past year and a half or longer since the first inklings of the idea started.....
