Man plans on stealing two beers but gets more than he expected On November 9, 2014 at approximately 11:51 p.m. a robbery was reported at the Best Mart located at 3565 SW Hall Blvd. When Beaverton officers arrived the suspect was seen running from the store towards Standard TV and Appliance. When officers attempted to stop him, he flipped off the officers and continued running. Several other officers arrived and were able to take the suspect into custody and identified him as Solomon Yemane-Berhane 21 years old. After Yemane-Berhane was taken into custody officers went to the Best Mart to contact the owners. Once in the Best Mart it was obvious that there had been a violent struggle that had occurred inside. There were broken beer bottles and many displays had been knocked over and broken. Yemane-Berhane had entered the store and attempted to take two bottles of beer. The owner recognized him from a week prior when she refused to sell him beer and he broke them on the floor. She saw that he had gotten two beers out of the cooler and was heading towards the open door. She ran to the door to close it to try to stop him from leaving. Yemane-Berhane pushed the owner to try to get past her and out the door. The owner grabbed ahold of him and yelled for her husband. The two of them wrestled with Yemane-Berhane for a considerable amount of time inside the store. Both of the owners received injuries from this incident. You will see in the video the severity of the incident and how the two owners wrestled Yemane-Berhane right out of his clothing. Yemane-Berhane was indicted today by a Washington County Grand Jury on two counts of robbery in the third degree, assaulting a police officer, three counts of assault in the fourth degree, resisting arrest, two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree and theft in the third degree. It is not believed that Yemane-Berhane had intended to commit these many crimes when he entered the store. His decision to commit one crime is what did lead to these nine charges and the injuries he was responsible for. Everyone involved in this incident are lucky that the injuries sustained were not more serious. Watch the entire video the end will make you scratch your head.
