Managua, Nicaragua : Day 3: The 6 men and 8 women went our separate ways today. The men went to work; the women went to a restaurant overlooking a lagoon that used to be a volcano. The ladies had a great day of prayer, worship, and sharing with the staff of House of Hope. While I wasnt there, I got second hand reports of how well it went. We at FOLC are family, but we dont all have deep relationships with everyone else, so for the women in our group, as Im finding to be true with the men, part of the excitement of this trip, other than getting a chance to minister to women who House of Hope serves or the staff of HoH, has been getting to know each other better and seeing each persons giftings. The ladies of FOLC all seemed to have a really great day. God is awesome in that He blessed the men with a truly mild day in which to work. We finished painting a swingset and replacing the chains on the swings. We also finished painting the slides. Then, we finished painting the porch roof of one of the residents at HoH. Of course, the children sought us out. During the afternoon, Jordan, Kevin, Sean, and me took turns being jungle gyms or horses for these kids who are desperate for the attention of a good man. So, repairing a swingset and being living playgrounds was our ministry today. What does tomorrow hold? We shall see! Thank you all for your support and prayers! Were halfway through the week.
