Manston Pickles heart sinks when it sees yet more petitions organised by the Save Manston supporters. Theres absolutely no reason for anyone to participate in these polls - certainly not if they are people who are against a CPO for a whole list of reasons. The petitions wont be credible because you can vote using false names and you can vote multiple times; the petition prayers are poorly worded and the wording is biased to favour the pro-airport campaign; the petitions can be signed by anybody, anywhere in the world, so they cannot be used to inform the council about local opinion. The reason given for saying no to a CPO is given as there are a number of people who do not wish to see the Manston site return as an airport which simply doesnt reflect the variety of positions and views of people who oppose this CPO. The petitions are completely irrelevant because no vote on a CPO is planned. The decision on whether to select RO as an indemnity partner is based purely on whether or not they meet the pre-set criteria - this is an objective decision. No CPO process could even begin without there being an indemnity partner.
