Many claim to love the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and would die for him. However, these claims soon disappear into thin air when the going gets tough! Allah described him: “And verily, you are on an exalted standard of character”. Compare this with those who use foul language and profanity all the time. He used to smile and encourage people to smile. He told us that smiling in the face of another Muslim is a charity. Those who are always grumpy with a constant frown on their faces are so far away from his Sunnah! When leaders and politicians encourage spying and information gathering on their citizens, our Prophet wasn’t like this. He used to forbid people to talk to him negatively about his companions because he wanted to meet them with a clean chest! Around him, people felt safe and were not afraid for their lives even the hypocrites whom he knew their names. He refrained from killing them so that the reputation of Islam wouldn’t be tarnished. He said: I don’t want people to say that Mohammed is killing his companions. Compare this with those who terrorize innocent people in the name of Islam and kill barbarically Muslims and worshippers. Therefore, when the going gets tough, these people’s Iman goes out of the window as they don’t relate to the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam at all!
