Many have asked how I am doing and what the updates are after my surgery. It is easier to answer once here. The surgery I had removed the three bones (phalanges) that make up the fourth toe. All three bones were full of infection. They also removed part of the metatarsal bone as well (just in case the infection may have transferred to it). This was more extensive than I had expected. Part of the wound was left open to drain and heal on its own. Hence the order to stay off the foot. Anyhow, I went back for my second follow up yesterday. Doc says it appears to be healing well. I can now do light duty. Limited walking or standing I can drive with walking boot. Finishing up antibiotics and changing dressing twice per day. Foot is still pretty sore (obviously) Back for follow up with surgeon on April 9th. Even though this is not major surgery, it has made a drastic change in my normal personal and ministry activities. Your prayers and acts of kindness have been greatly appreciated.
