Many of you have read about Friday’s puppy mill raid and seizure in Rutherford County. Ten (10) of the dogs from that location have been turned over to Iredell County Animal Services, and eight of the ten are suitable for adoption (as suitable as puppy mill dogs get). The remaining two will go to rescue. Due to the extraordinary amount of interest we’ve had in these dogs, Iredell County Animal Services needed to come up with a fair and simple way to allow adoptions. We have decided on a lottery drawing type system. Potential adopters have until 12:00 noon, Thursday, October 9, 2014 submit their entries into the drawing. Entries may be submitted in person to the Adoption Desk at Iredell County Animal Services, 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC. Or, via email to [email protected] Only one entry may be submitted per household, and entries must contain the following information: o Name (Last, First) o Physical Address (no PO Boxes) o Contact Number (see schedule below) o Driver License or other photo ID number At 12:05 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2014, the drawing will be held, and winning entrants contacted via phone. The drawing will consist of eight (8) primary winners, and four (4) alternates. Winning entrants must come in person (no substitutions) to Iredell County Animal Services (ICAS), 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC 28677. Once notified, winning entrants and alternates must be at ICAS at 2:00pm, Friday, October 10, 2014. At 2:00 on Friday, the first winning entrant drawn during Thursday’s drawing will be given the first chance to adopt any of the adoptable animals. The second winning entrant will then be given a chance to adopt any of the remaining adoptable animals, and so on.
