Many years a go a young flustered digger named me was whinging to an RAINF NCO. his answer to my problem at the time was the bullshit stops when the hammer drops I didnt really understand it then, but in time I came to realise the precise nature of his words. I was even known to use them myself as an JNCO! armed conflicts of any nature have brutality, evil and good in spades. but the clarity of purpose you have can never be achieved again in a peace time environment. with peace comes rules and restrictions a necessary layer of red tape that can often bury you. We all get caught up in the red tape of our own lives, our beliefs, expectations, experiences, our biases. take to that red tape once in a while with a pair of scissors and free yourself to a pure purpose to live for, without the bonds of excuses or what ifs. dont be a slave to your past....it has passed
