Many years ago a six string called my name. I picked it up & stroked its steel & heard magic to this day I feel. Just felt my way around, up & down its neck. Seemed natural to find those new beautiful sounds. Never knew the name of notes or chords. Just played it as it was heard, in my head. Just seemed natural. Got an old brown six string that belonged to a double first cousin. Once again some kind of muse came from this old cast aside Martingirl that was now mine to never lose. Night time on the steps of my little country parents home, I picked & plucked & played as crickets,cicadas were a backing chorus & the love has never left me, somehow she has always stayed, I cant call myself a player,just a lifetime lover of what I found on those steel strings all those years ago. It still feels no natural. 2015 is the year I learn the name of the notes & chords & match the music with the words. Its all so natural. When I heard Dave Alvin for the first time,I knew,I just knew! Thats the sound,thats always been around, inside my head. Time to learn from the Muse. Time to turn it loose. Its so natural. Magic in Steel Strings dubbie Jan. 2015
