Many years ago during my childhood, there was a war raging outside as my grandfather and I watched a John Wayne film together. It was the first time that this was allowed on the air in our Eastern European country, right after there was a major shift in our ruling government and democracy was finally at our doorstep. My grandpa would turn up the volume during the gunfights, so that I wouldnt get scared by the real sounds of artillery and explosions outside. That night, while I trembled at the thought of not living another day to see the world, I promised myself that if I made it, Id want to make movies in America one day, and enjoy a beautiful sunset in a free country. Now, I dont ever want any of you to experience the scarring fear of war, but I do want you to always seek what makes you happy and take a moment to enjoy the things that make you smile. If theres one thing that I want you to get from my photography, its that no matter how bad life gets, it can also get much better. I remember everything Ive gone through every time I take a photo. I wished for these beautiful sunsets the same night that bombs were going off near my house and shook my building while gunfire lit up the night sky. I often look back at my footprints in the sand and realize just how far Ive come. Thank you and have a very nice evening.
