Many years ago, when I was much more important than I am now (LOL), I used to HAVE to fly to Barbados at least once a year on business, I HAD to go and as I told all of the employees in the office, I wouldnt ask you to do anything that I wasnt prepared to do myself so EVERY year I sacrificed myself and went so that they didnt have to, they never thanked me for it though, ungrateful bastards, I paid their wages too. Anyway this one year as I was booking a flight on BA they asked me if Id like to upgrade to Concorde, which sounded ok but as my clients were paying for the standard fare Id have to clear it with them - the unique selling point being of course that if you flew on a 747 you usually had 9 or 10 hours of flight time depending on which Carribean island they paired up the flight with, on Concorde it was a direct flight and you arrived at Grantly Adams a couple of hours BEFORE youd set off from Heathrow, yes it was true time travel, you went backwards through the day during the flight. Being a Yorkshireman my first question was, Well that would be nice, but how much ?. The choice was a simple one, fly on the 747 and waste a day but do it for free (the client was paying), or spend £5400 and do it one way on Concorde. You probably already know that I never flew on Concorde. https://youtube/watch?v=aGwZP_ef3MQ
