March 10, 2014. Paul tells us in Phillippians that I have learned - TopicsExpress

March 10, 2014. Paul tells us in Phillippians that I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. That is not as easy as it sounds, but I have learned to do it as I have gotten older. Daniel and three other Jewish nobles were taken into captivity and luckily ended up in the kings court because of their gifts. They remained loyal to God throughout their captivity. Daniel had visions and dreams and they survived fire and lions because they prayed and worshiped God. So often we find ourselves in circumstances that we wish were different: a different job, a different state, or a different church. We think we could serve God better somewhere else. But the lesson of Paul and Daniel is to wait on God to show us where He wants us to serve. If we are willing servants, God can use us for His divine purposes anywhere. We need to pray Dear God, help us to see beyond our circumstances to more ways we can serve you. Amen. Wednesday at 7pm is the study of Revelation led by John Livesay. Thursday at 6pm is the UMW meeting in the fellowship hall. Saturday at 6pm is the White Elephant sale. There will be soup and sandwiches and then the sale. You never know if you will buy a gag or a treasure, but the true treasure is the fellowship and fun we always have. This week will be busy but try to attend at least one of the evenings and enjoy the fellowship. God bless you and yours. Kitty
