Maria orders probe into swearing-in security breach The police, who were left red-faced due to the security breach at the swearing-in function of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, have ordered an inquiry. Police chief Rakesh Maria said deputy commissioner Ravindra Shisve will carry out the probe and submit a report. We have ordered an inquiry to ascertain where the security lapse occurred, said joint commissioner Dhananjay Kamlakar. Anil Mishra (39), a self-proclaimed BJP activist, gained entry into the October 31 swearing-in ceremonyat Wankhede Stadium without a valid pass, shook hands with Fadnavis, met BJP chief Amit Shah, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and state rural development minister Pankaja Munde, and reached within inches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He posted pictures of his exploit on a social networking website. Mishra (39) has been arrested after BJP worker Sanjay Bedia lodged a complaint. In the CCTV footage accessed by the Mumbai police, Mishra, who was seen entering inside the stadium with Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, identified himself as the senior BJP leaders secretary. Mishra has been booked under IPC sections 170 (impersonating a pubic servant) and 447 (punishment for trespassing) and has been remanded in police custody till November 11. Mishra has been questioned by the state intelligence bureau and officers of the Special Protection Group, which provides security to the PM, are likely to quiz him.
