Marketing Communications Specialist - California Lonski and Associates LLC - Indialantic, FL Job Title: MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST Location: California POSITION SUMMARY As Marketing Communications Specialist you are part of a team responsible for the development and execution of communications for the companies brand of products. Your primary focus is to support company with marketing, sales, digital and community relations solutions. The successful candidate will work daily with local, national and international media (print, radio, television and digital), as well as various internal departments to raise awareness of the company brands. YOUR ROLE •Develop and implement integrated and proactive strategic media communications plans for all products, events, initiatives and business areas including sales, marketing, spare parts, product marketing and trade marketing •Responsible for developing relationships and pitching media nationally and internationally to create opportunities for keeping the company and its products or services in front of the public and the trade •Field and direct responses to all media-related inquiries, service media requests, arrange for staff and dealer interviews / appearances •Develop story ideas to present to members of the diverse media •Maintain and develop media contact list and media distribution lists •Manage and create content for company properties including websites, social media outlets, product brochures, etc. •Writing and editing all press materials and weekly dealer communications highlighting reviews, events, updates from previous week •Responsible for tracking media coverage and reporting information back to various company constituencies, including but not limited to staff, dealers, Corporate HQ, on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis •Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining talking points and storyline documents and working with local PR contacts to suit local dealer markets •Monitor and compile competitor press coverage of product releases, reviews, announcements; creating competitive analysis matrix •Develop full understanding of the features, benefits and positioning of the line of products •Assist company staff with public speaking engagements, presentations, and preparation of articles for publication •Develop, promote and pitch companies community relations initiatives •Maintain vehicle fleet for media, consumer, and trade show events ◦Key contact for west coast and east coast press and marketing fleets ◦Track and maintain whereabouts of all vehicles ◦Route schedule for fleet to media and at events ◦Work with internal and external requests for access to fleet vehicles •Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS •Bachelor’s Degree and any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities •Minimum of 4 years work experience in the powersports or automotive industry media relations or communications department is strongly desired •US work authorization required •Knowledge and passion of the powersports industry is preferred •Possess strong relationships with local, regional and national trade powersports media •Demonstrated excellent written, oral, proof-reading and presentation skills •Possess a firm understanding of digital platforms and media, and how to navigate the digital landscape to produce desired company communications results •Must be self-motivated, results oriented; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines •Service oriented; committed to teamwork and outstanding customer service •Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels within the company, media and other high level outside contacts •Computer skills – MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint experience •May involve working evenings, weekends and holidays •Bi-lingual candidate a plus but not mandatory (English and French) •Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid motorcycle driver’s license •Some travel (both domestic and international) will be required If you feel you meet these qualifications and are ready to work with an ambitious and hard working team, Please let me know if you or someone you know would be a good match for this opportunity.
