Married To PTSD She lays there in the darkness her hand upon his chest. Praying beneath her breath tonight Lord help him rest. She watched him fight the devils that haunt him late at night. Shes done all she knows to do to try to make it right. She watched the man she married change along the way. Different now than he used to be no more like yesterday. So happy kind and gentle its just what she used to see. Now she looks into his eyes in search of used to be. Shes seen her man rise and fall time and time again. She believes that someday she will see him win. Seasons come and seasons go for an officer on the street. An injured broken heart remains when his careers complete. Still she stands beside him together they endure. A heart thats tried by fire is a heart that is made pure. So she lays in the darkness with one hand on his chest.
