Mary Kom.... Biopics have their own charm and their own place in the film industry...Biopics on sports personalities always show promise in a sport crazy nation....The latest one to be added is Mary Kom....based on World Champion Boxer MC Mary Kom... Portrayed by the immensely talented Priyanka Chopra...The film shows Marys journey from an arrogant school-going girl...to the Dedicated Boxer...through the tough phases of training...gender discrimination...marriage..parenthood..as well as criticism from media... Priyanka has done really well to fit in the boxers shoes...However at times..the film does seem to be deviated...concentrating on her Love life a little more than the Boxing Training... Director Omung Kumar lets the film pick up...after the marriage..with all the Training...and the criticism from Media...given Marys Manipuri background... It is hard not to draw comparisons to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag...but as compared...Mary Kom is quite a good effort...An Inspiring story nonetheless...and the National Anthem scene at the end...has a very strong impact.... Overall..the film Mary Kom packs a strong punch...to the audience.!!
