Maryland added 9,300 jobs in April, including 7,600 private sector jobs, while lowering our unemployment rate to 5.5%. We continue to lead the region in job recovery in the wake of the Great Recession. But while were making progress, too many Marylanders remain out of work or underemployed. Thats why weve released the Brown-Ulman jobs plan to make sure that working families have access to good jobs at good wages. By working together with our vibrant private sector, well make our business climate the best in the nation to create jobs and build a better Maryland for more Marylanders.
