Match Day Report. The South Melbourne Centaurs Quidditch Club have been pushed back to 6th position on the Easton Shield ladder today with a heavy defeat at the hands of the Wrackspurts 210* - 30. The sun shone down on Fawkner park as the game got underway this morning. With a team less than half the size of the opposing Wrackspurts, the Centaurs struggled early to find their feet. Mark Kelly was sidelined for the first 10 minutes of the match due to a late sign in leaving the Centaurs going in to the match with only eight active players. A lucky first goal to Mick Dundee off the hands of a Wrackspurts defender got the Centaurs off the mark but it failed to inspire a resurgence with a few quick replies from the team in blue keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Dundee did make them pay for a lapse in concentration at one point. After a Wrackspurts goal the Centaurs keeper quickly recovered the ball and bounded away into an open goal before the Wrackspurts even knew what was going on. Despite the defeat, an improved attack and passing structure sees the Centaurs skill level increasing match by match. Only time will tell if this ever improving team can take their first scalp in the weeks to come. Injury Report: None.
