Materials: Worsted Weight or Aran yarn in 3 colors. I used Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Stone, Snow, and Taupe(affiliate link) Size J crochet hook(affiliate link) Scissor Tapestry needle for weaving ends Abbreviations: dc – double crochet ch – chain sk – skip sc – single crochet Gauge: 20 stitches =4 inches and 4 rows= 4 inches Multiple: 18 x an odd number (for example, this blanket is a multiple of 18×7) Notes: The finished dimensions of this afghan are approximately 31.5″ x 31.5″ but sizing will vary based on how tightly or loosely you crochet. For this particular afghan, I used approximately 1.5 skeins of each color yarn (approx.932 – 933 yards) Instructions: Ch 126 Row 1: 2 dc into 4th ch from hook *[sk 2 chs, 3 dc into the next ch] twice, ch 3, 3 dc into next ch, [sk 2 chs, 3 dc into next ch] twice, sk 5 chs, 3 dc into next ch* Repeat * until there 3 chs left. Sk 2 chs and dc in the last ch. Ch 3, turn. Row 2: *[3 dc into the space between the double crochets from the previous row] twice. [3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc] into the ch 3 space from previous row. [3 dc into the space between the double crochets from the previous row] twice. Sk the ch 5 space.* Repeat * until you reach the end of the row. Dc in the turning ch from the previous row. Ch 3, turn. Row 3-39: Repeat row 2 until you have the desired length of your afghan. Fasten off and weave all ends.
