Mayson’s update for Saturday 8/9/14; This update will kind of recap the past couple days. I was simply too tired to post an update last night. Mayson has been doing much better the past couple days. Yesterday was BIG for him in his recovery process. During his visit from physical therapy he was able to stand and with aid of a walker he was able to walk from his bed to the nurses station and back! That 20 feet was the furthest he’s walked since I took him to the hospital two weeks ago. His spirits are high, too. I ask him to rate his happiness on a scale from 1-10 (1 being in the dumps and 10 being super happy). The past two days he’s said that he’s a 10! Part of me wants to completely believe it but the realistic side of me knows that he just wants to be home and back to life as he knows it. More good news came after getting the results from two scans back. The test checking the flow of his spinal fluid came back passing with flying colors. It’s flowing just like it should. The other result to come back was from a CT scan that was done to check the effectiveness of his chemo on the tumors. His tumors are diminishing fairly quickly. The one in his back is going quicker than the one in his head but the one at his sinuses is decreased enough that he can breathe from his nose with no strain. Thank you all for your prayers, visits, cards, blankets, quilts, love, and support. The Lord has His healing hands on my boy.
