McDonald’s Vietnam will look abroad for ingredients [19 July 2013] McDonald’s new outlet in Vietnam will source ingredients through its existing network of global suppliers. “Our goal is to offer our Vietnamese customers the best quality food at great value, as we do in all our markets,” VP of Corporate Relations McDonald’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Liam Jeory told Asian Agribiz. Sourcing food ingredients from our global supply partners will “help us focus on delivering the full range of menu items to our customers at all times. Our long-term plan is to work with more local suppliers to meet our needs in a sustainable way”. Vietnam began opening to foreign investors two decades ago, but investment rose significantly after the communist-led country joined the World Trade Organisation in 2007.
