McGourtys Happenings 11-13-14 thru 11-16-14 All I can say about this last weekend is WOW! Last Thursday’s trivia crowd was the biggest yet! We thank everyone who comes out to support! Friday’s music by Kirk Gollwitzer was a wonderful, relaxing evening with one of our areas most talented people. Saturday after the beer fest was just amazing! Thank you for the patience while we tried to serve you in a timely manner. Also, thank you for the feedback as we strive to improve on a weekly basis. And, of course, there is Sunday. I nice relaxed day with a wonderful Potluck dinner. Thank you to all who participate! Kitchen Update: We continue to press forward with the kitchen: suppliers have been contacted, menus have been worked, staff has been hired, etc… Again, we thank you for your patience! We constantly want to improve to make your experience wonderful! Always feel free to contact us with any concerns and / or complaints. Your feedback is welcome! Here are the weekly happenings for your pub, McGourty’s! Thursday, November 13, 2014 – 4:00 pm – Until… Cheeseburger Thursday / Trivia with Todd – 7:00 pm: Cheeseburger Thursday is always delicious! Come out for an awesome burger (if you have had one, you know how true this is) with chips for only $5.00! While we will are cooking and serving you this delicious meal, you can ponder a bunch of useless questions about nothing in particular. As always, they are all original questions from “Trivia Todd” .So, if you know a bunch of useless information, it could be worth something! If you haven’t been here yet, you should give it a try! Thank you to all who come out regularly for this event! Friday, November 14, 2014 – 4:00 pm = 2:00 am Trolley to Oskar Blues – 5:30 pm / Karaoke with MC Gourty – 9:00 pm: We will be once again loading up on the trolley at 5:30 pm to Oskar Blues to invade the brewery in Brevard. Please try to be there a bit early so we can leave on time. We should be back at the pub somewhere between 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm depending on the consensus of the group. Riyen Roots and Kenny Dore, who are two of our favorite performers at the pub, will be playing at the brewery. Also, there will be a food truck during the earlier hours upon your arrival. Sign up now with any employee at McGourty’s! We will also have MC Gourty (Tim Daniels) playing karaoke for those who want to sing in the spotlight this Friday! He will be opening the stage for our talented (?) patrons Friday night at 9:00 pm. Come out and have a blast with your friends singing the night away! I promise there will be some really interesting singers having a turn once the trolley rolls back into the parking lot! A good time will be had! Saturday, November 15, 2014 – 12:00 pm – 2:00 am The Two Daves– 8:00 pm / College Football Saturday – ALL DAY!: The 2 Daves are a Campobello duo featuring Dave Kushubar on guitar and vocals and Dave Shealy singing, playing sax and percussion. Kushubar hails from Charleston where he played for the Krushtones and the duo the Urban Lumberjacks. Shealy has played in many area bands. His former bands including Gas House Mouse have played for many area events including the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival, Moon Howl and the Roger Park Summer Tracks Series. The 2 Daves play a variety of songs including everything from the Beatles to Bruno Mars to original songs. . This promises to be a great show, and we are very proud to have them spending this Saturday evening with us for your listening pleasure! Sunday, November 16, 2014 – 2:00 pm – Until… Potluck Dinner – 6:30 pm / Pro Football Sunday – ALL DAY!: Sunday, Sunday… It’s my favorite day; a relaxed, come as you are type of day. So come as you are for your favorite cold beverage and watch some NFL action or your sport of choice on the TV. Our Potluck Dinner will bring together some great food and great friends! It’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon having a home cooked meal without having to do all the cooking! Bring a side and your appetite and join us for an afternoon of relaxation with a couple of cold drinks. As always, our potluck is the best price around - FREE! Cheers!
