Meditating for eternal life in the lake of fire!!! Lets see what people say about yoga and meditation and how does it contradict with faith in the only God and his son Jesus Christ. 1)They say practice of meditation can produce an experience that feels spiritual. Now, what is spirituality? ?They say spirituality is the quest for understanding oneself and one’s place in the universe. This is not true. Its the lie of the devil. There is no spirituality beyond knowing the only God who created you and me, accepting his son as your personal savior for eternal life. 2)They say meditation is a kind of required in religion, but religion isn’t needed to have or experience spirituality. Meditating, this “gazing at the self”, could lead you to all sorts of revelations: it could deepen your existing spiritual or religious beliefs, or it could conjure up some doubts about them. First of all Jesus christ is not any religion. Christianity is a fellowship with Christ. Religion is vein traditions of man, mainly satanism and religion is repetitive stupidity that leads to hell. There is no better revelation than the fear of God and knowing that Jesus died for our sins. Now broader path leads to hell and many goes into it. Narrow is the path leading to heaven and only few goes through it (Mathew 7:18). 3)Some yogis claim that yoga is just a form of exercise and stretching, and that it’s nothing to do with spirituality. They don’t quite cover the whole truth, at least historically speaking and they simply contradict with themselves. The word ‘yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’, meaning to unite or to bind. The basis for the historical understanding of yoga lies in the Yoga Sutras, a text attributed to the sage Patañjali that dates back almost two thousand years. It describes a system of meditation and philosophy consisting of eight “limbs”, or aspects, which for the most part involve thought processes leading to a healthy and happy mental existence. There isn’t a lot of talk about ‘asanas’, i.e. physical postures. Yoga, deeply rooted in Hinduism, essentially means to be yoked with the divine. Yogic postures, breathing, and chanting were originally designed not to bring better physical health and well-being (Western marketing to the contrary), but a sense of oneness with Brahman—the Hindu word for the absolute being that pervades all things. This is pantheism (all is divine), not of Christ. 4)Transcendental Meditation is a veiled form of Hindu yoga, though it claims to be a religiously neutral method of relaxation and rejuvenation. Initiates to TM receive a mantra (Hindu holy word) to repeat while sitting in yogic postures and engaging in yogic breathing. The goal is to find God within their own beings, since God (Brahman) and the self (Atman) are really one. This helps explain why so many Eastern mystics claim that divine realities are utterly beyond words, thought, and personality. In order to find enlightenment, one must extinguish ones critical capacities. This is something the Bible never calls us to do. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Rom. 12:1-2). In fact, suspending our critical capacities through meditation opens the soul to deception and even to spiritual bondage. No amount of chanting, breathing, visualizing, or physical contortions will melt away the sin that separates us from the Lord of the cosmos—however peaceful these practices may feel. Moreover, Paul warns that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). Pleasant experiences may be portals to peril. 5)Many Eastern religions teach that the source of salvation is found within, and that the fundamental human problem is not sin against a holy God but ignorance of our true condition. These world views advocate meditation and higher forms of consciousness as a way to discover a secret inner divinity.Differences in various forms of Eastern meditation aside, they all aim at a supposedly higher or altered state of consciousness. Meditation guides claim that normal consciousness obscures sacred realities. Therefore, meditation is practiced in order to suspend rational patterns of thought. The answer to our plight is not found in some higher level of consciousness (really a deceptive state of mind), but in placing our faith in the unmatched achievements of Jesus Christ on our behalf. If it were possible to find enlightenment within, God would not have sent his one and only Son (John 3:16) to die on the Cross for our sins in order to give us new life and hope for eternity through Christs resurrection. We cannot raise ourselves from the dead. Overstressed people around the world are increasingly turning to various forms of Eastern meditation, particularly yoga, in search of relaxation and spirituality. Underlying these meditative practices, however, is a worldview in conflict with biblical spirituality—though many Christians are (unwisely) practicing yoga. The biblical concept of prayer assumes that rational and meaningful communication between God and humans is possible. There is no summons to suspend rational judgment even when prayer through the Holy Spirit is with groans that words cannot express (Rom. 8:26). Nor should we repeat words meaninglessly to induce a trance (Matt. 6:7). I know people who call themselves christian with reasoning that they are not following the spiritual part of it but the physical aspect. But i tell you that you are under the headship of satan once you start doing it. Emptying your mind by meditation is neither for Good nor of God. A clean and emptied mind is a playground for demons. In fact Jesus warns us there will be 7 times fold demonic attack on the heart which is swept, clean and garnished without Christ. Even yoga teachers warn that yoga may open one up to spiritual and physical maladies. In the Bible, meditation always means pondering Gods revealed truths and reflecting on how they pertain to us. David revels in the richness of Gods law throughout Psalm 119. He encourages us to meditate on it: I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word (Ps. 119:15-16). Since all Scripture is God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16), all of it is profitable for meditation in the biblical sense. I know people who has turned to Yoga for peace with the ignorance of word of God and what God has promised for them. Satan, who is the false light, can only imitate peace and happiness. But i can guarantee you, he will destroy you once you have yielded to him. Why do you need Yoga for peace when jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27)
