Meet Miss Kitty - a great horned owl. Miss Kitty is a testimony - TopicsExpress

Meet Miss Kitty - a great horned owl. Miss Kitty is a testimony to those who care about creatures that get injured often caused by the negligence or direct action of man. They attempt to rehabilitate the animals and if unsuccessful, take care of them and allow them to live out their lives in comfort and safety. Miss Kitty was found floundering about on the ground in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida with an apparently injured left wing. She was brought to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in Indian Shoes, FL, where their veterinarians attempted to repair her wing. They were unsuccessful, and it was necessary to amputate part of her wing relegating her to not being able to ever fend for herself. She was 5 years old when found and now at the age of 13, has been living happily and safely at the sanctuary ever since. My photo of her is for sale in the sanctuarys store (at no profit to myself). A couple of weeks ago, Helen Botha, a wildlife artist based out of Zimbabwe, Africa fell in love with my photo of Miss Kitty and is now in the process of painting her - the final work will be entered in the annual art & photography contest sponsored by Art4Apes (based out of Miami), a organization that does amazing work raising money to assist endangered species. As an aside, I have three photos entered in the contest.
