Megan Naifeh of Oklahoma City applied to adopt an urgent shelter - TopicsExpress

Megan Naifeh of Oklahoma City applied to adopt an urgent shelter dog last week. Her app, experience, pet ownership, vet and interview were all excellent. The dog had some skin issues, she asked for advice on supplements and was excited to help him recover. She made arrangements to pick up in Dallas in person. She also said she volunteers with her local no kill humane society & had been a board member with them, and we have talked to them to confirm she was on file as a volunteer. They said she did apply last fall with them and was approved but had not yet fostered for them. Megan picked up Saturday morning, and according to our volunteer, Megan was excited and said it was love at first sight. Within hours of her picking up in Dallas and before 5pm the same day she had dumped the dog at her city animal control and stopped communicating with us. (We always follow up with every placement same day, next day, and then once a week after that until/if needed.) With calls & texts, we asked how he was doing, we told her we were here to help and support her, and we would take the dog back if it wasnt a fit, etc. she had also agreed to let us know if it was not a fit so we could pick him up. Feeling something was not right since Megan had refused communication with us since getting the dog home, I started calling her vet and the humane society she said she volunteers with in OKC yesterday. I also left a message for the animal welfare officer in OKC yesterday because we planned to ask for a welfare visit to Megans home since she wouldnt respond to us. And had a local rescue friend on standby to help if needed. Megan finally responded to us last night (lying) saying she was out of town due to a death in her family and that everything was fine and the dogs were home with a pet sitter. We got the call from the city facility this morning that the dog was there and they told us she surrendered him same day she picked him up and she hid it from us and when forced to reply to us she lied. We are picking the dog up today from the shelter. Please add Megan Naifeh of Oklahoma City to your DO NOT ADOPT list. She has a female Doberman named Dobie and a terrier mix named Sissy. All of her family is well known in high end OKC area according to the OK Humane group. Permission to share with other animal rescue/animal welfare groups is granted.
