Merry Christmas: A Short Story Dressed as Santa Claus, they went together to Gopals home on 25th December and gifted him a quilt. A lot of photos were clicked. Gopal wasnt pleased. He asked, Santa is late. Didnt he know that winter arrives in November itself? They didnt have an answer. Such an outburst was not anticipated, hoping that the kids who received Christmas presents would be happy. They looked up to curse their God, who chose the wrong month to be born, but all they could see was a dark and dingy underbelly of a leaky bridge. It was infested with spiderwebs, except for one damped withered paper that was stuck there. It carried a sketchy charcoal drawing of an old woman, a pencil-drawn garland around her neck. Gopal cut a small portion of the quilt with a blade, took it nearer to the paper stuck on the wall and broke their reverie with his question, Did your Santa Claus send a safety pin as well?
