Merry Christmas, friends! Every Christmas Eve, my dad would read the Christmas story from Luke 2 to our family. The last Christmas before he went to Heaven on New Years Eve, he was too sick to do it, and so my mom asked my brother Hal to read for him. Ill always remember how sad and yet happy it made me to watch the legacy of faith my dad and mom had passed along to us unfolding before my eyes. Every year since, my mom has asked a different family member to read the story, and last night, she asked me. It moved me so deeply to read those familiar verses to family members from 80 to 3 years old, all of us still learning daily about the wonder and glory of the gift we were given when Jesus was born. So one last song added to this years Advent calendar... one of my very favorites Ive ever been part of writing with David Moffitt. It sums what Christmas is all about.
