Metallica have become a parody of themselves fronted by a bear hunting red neck, with a lead guitarist who doesnt bother to tune, cant stay in time anymore and doesnt seem to give a shit about tone and a drummer who has deteriorated to the point where he probably couldnt keep up with the White Stripes. So dissing them is de rigueur at the moment; especially in the elitist indie circles. But in their pomp, there were very few who could keep up with them and certainly less who could have put out an album as monumental as this. Its cool to be indie; but its cooler to be epic!
