Michael Newman, Founder/Owner The Muscle Science Project Since the age of four physical fitness has been a major part of the Newman household. By 12 years old I started to play touch football, gymnastics and Olympic style wrestling and after a brief and successful wrestling stunt I moved onto boxing. By high school I was playing football and boxing year round. As a boxer I held a record of 43 wins and 7 losses, and represented Ontario and Canada several times. As I was pursuing a chance of representing Canada at the 1992 Olympic, I was diagnosed with a liver ailment which led me to leave the sport. I moved to London and continued to play football with the London Beefeater Football Program. After a torn hamstring, which ended my football career, I ventured in the bodybuilding field for a brief time. During my professional career I have trained 3 NHL Stanley cup winners, NFL and CLF athletes, Professional and amateur boxers, consulted MMA teams. I have also trained countless of scholarship athletes. In my past I was the conditioning/dry land coach for St Marys Jr B hockey team. I have designed nutrition plans for several athletic teams. EDUCATION: •Studied at Fanshawe College, Fitness & Health Promotion, •University of Western ON Faculty of Kinesiology, Facility of Science, Biology •Brescia University College Food & Nutrition Program •Stonebridge Associate College, Neuro Linguistic Programming. EXPERIENCE: •Hold certifications in personal training for 26 years, nutrition specialist, food and wellness specialist, and strength and condition •General managed four fitness clubs •Fanshawe College, 11 years lectured as a Part time Professor in the Fitness & Health Program where I taught the business side of the industry •Manage both Popeye’s Supplements store in London, ON •Owned my first fitness related company at age 22 I’ve been hooked on entrepreneurship ever since
