Michael left the house this afternoon to recycle some stuff at the Wolfeboro town trash depository (weekdays are less crowded). Normally oblivious to his surroundings, he had to do a double-take when he spotted a face-famous neighbor, without helper, calmly sorting stuff out of his van into the appropriate bins. A former professional photographer, Michael asked permission to take a couple of iPhone snapshots. It was given with a smile. (Before posting, Michael was also careful to smudge the label address and license plate number so that they could not be discerned.) To me, the photos tell a tale: its a commentary on our times that its SO surprising that a leading politico chooses to take out his trash like the rest of us..
