Midday has us, me, her and them, at Sulphur Point boat ramp. Were heading for Omokoroa for lunch, a fish off the jetty, a fish in the harbour - all very relaxing. All went to plan apart from a minor, make that a major, mishap alongside the Omokoroa jetty ... Joshua drops his rod into 3.5 meters of murky, cold water. There is rests! A pleasant cruise home via Te Puna and Joshua and Dominic catch a few fish off the Sulphur Point Jetty. Most of us are aware of the Rena emotion in our region, the constant cry in regard toxic waste and pollution that is going to put our sea life at risk and coastline for years to come! I can assure you, the impact of the Rena pales into insignificance compared to the daily impact of those complaining on the shore! Check out the rubbish and oil heading for the ocean this afternoon! Kinda puts things in perspective a bit, especially so when what we are doing on land is deliberate, by choice, unlike an idiot on a ship!
