Mike, Cassie and I attended the Black Conservative Summit - TopicsExpress

Mike, Cassie and I attended the Black Conservative Summit Leadership Initiative in Washington D.C. The purpose of this Summit is to advance conservative principles in matters of faith, race and politics. My husband Michael posted the following: It was a pleasure to meet Ben Kinchlow (former 700 Club host), The Hon.Kenneth Blackwell (Senior fellow family research council and former U.S. Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission), Rev. Walter Hoye II (President and Founder of the Issues4life and Founder of the Frederick Douglas Foundation of California), Dean Nelson (Natl Outreach Director at Online for Life), Jennifer Marshall (VP for the Institute for Family, Community and Opportunity) and David Azerrad (Director of the Heritage Foundations Simon Center). Some of the other presenters were; Rev. Garland R. Hunt, Esq. (founder of Raleigh Intl Church and in 2010 commissioner of GA Dept. of Juvenile Justice), Marc Little (author, President of boutique law firm in CA and commissioner on Community and Family Services in Los Angeles), Dr. Eric Wallace (Publisher of Freedoms Journal, and non-profit Freedoms Journal Institute for the Study of Faith & Public Policy), Bishop E.W. Jackson Sr. (author, founder of Exodus Faith Ministries), Bishop Harry R. Jackson Jr. ( Senior Pastor of Hope Christian Church in Wash. D.C.and President and Founder of High Impact Leadership Coalition). It was a full day of presentations, inspirational speeches and Q & A. There was an atmosphere of hope for the future of America and our next generation in addressing these difficult cultural issues. There were many references to the power of God needed to change the downward spiraling culture of today and Bible passages quoted. Responsible government, individual liberty, strong families and economic empowerment were the central themes. The day ended with a reception at the Heritage Foundation with Jim DeMint (U.S. Senator and President of the Heritage Foundation). We left this Summit feeling more informed, uplifted, encouraged and empowered to continue the fight for conservative values in our public policies.
