Mike Fitzpatrick originally shared: Here is a simple example of why I think that Google Plus is becoming THE PLACE to market your content After publishing my last blog post, I shared the post on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus , I sat back and waited for 24 hours. The subsequent results speak for themselves - a handful of tweets and likes compared to hundreds of Plus ones, shares, and comments. For the record, I dont have a huge following on any of these social networks, in fact, I have only been using Google Plus regularly for just over 1 month. As a stats grad, I know as well as anyone that this is in no way a statistical proof or even close. But it does echo what I am seeing more and more across blogs and social networks: On Google Plus you dont need a big following to market your content. You simply need great content. What is happening on Google Plus right now is unprecedented online: completely open Communities of people (everyone from everyday folk to industry leading minds) contributing, chatting, engaging, sharing thoughts and sharing ideas freely and openly. This means that if you have great content to share (and nearly will have something if we work hard enough at it), put it out there on the relevant Google Plus Communities, and your work will get the credit it deserves. This rule is perfectly valid whether you have 1 person who has circled you or 1 million people who have circled you. Final thoughts Whilst I would not encourage you to abandon your other social networks and pile onto Google Plus, I strongly advise anyone with a website to start using the Plus regularly as a central part of their content marketing strategy.
