Mile #26.2 - There are VERY FEW things in this world that leave me speechless, but the outpour of love and support year over year for the Jimmy Fund always does. I am passionate about making sure I can do what I can for those who can not. It makes me feel good plain and simple and I think it makes everyone feel good to be a part of something larger than themselves. Mile #26.2 is dedicated to my mom. She passed away at the age of 42 on March 19th, 1992. She did not have the opportunity to even battle the enemy which is why I fight so hard to make sure other people can. To date I have raised close to $27,000 for Cancer research and that is ALL due to my amazing friends, family and colleagues - my amazing donors. Mile #26.2 was 1.2 miles straight up Margaret Hill at sunset. It was hot, my foot was bothering me, the mosquitos were having a field day.. But you can never give up. i have friends who are fighting agsinst Cancer day in and day out and they dont have the choice to turn around~ they tackle it head on bc they are warriors.. So as I climbed to the top of the hill where I could see clear across the Caribbean I thought to myself.. Wow, this is why I do this. This is why I fight so hard. She would love this. As I closed my eyes I knew she was already there smiling:) Thank you for allowing me to blow up your newsfeeds for the last two weeks. Your continued support has me extremely humbled..
