Minor Thanksgiving kitchen mishaps are known well and anticipated by every cooking woman. Over the years we learn our process and learn from trial and error. Ever the arrogant kitchen mistro....I thought I had this in the bag. Up most of the night, everything finally finished, Im uncovering the food and lining it up on the counter...getting ready to yell yall come eat. I open the cabinet to get a small bowl to put the cranberry sauce in and....thats when the worst Thanksgiving disaster Ive ever had happened. Grabbing the stack of bowls and bring them down, the bottom bowl cracks and crumbles in my hand. All smaller bowls stacked inside come crashing through and smash...sending shivers of glass spanning across the corn casserole, broccoli casserole and two different pots of peas and beans. Trashed. Cut and bleeding. Thanks to Allens beans and Great Value corn put in quick to cook cans and thanks to Daddy for running to Walmart and Joey cleaning up glass while I had my nervous breakdown. I toast this Thanksgiving with a Xanax. Happy Turkey Day everybody.
