Missing Cat? Here are some tips: put up flyers with a large clear photo people can see from their cars. Knock on every door in a 20 house radius and give them a flyer, ask them to please check their garages, sheds, backyards etc. (we once had a cat on the page found 7 days later locked in a shed, luckily he made it). Take a flyer to the Simi shelter, Fill out a lost form, Check the cages, Check the shelter physically every other day and check their online list of impounded cats w/photo to see if your cat is there. After 5 days a cat is eligible for adoption then theres nothing you can do! Someone might have your cat & turn it into the shelter 5-10-30+ days from now so keep checking the shelters (Simi/Camarillo, and west valley shelter in Chatsworth are closest). The shelter has a deceased cat list check that often too. Leave food/water outside of your home. Cats are most active at dawn/dusk. Leave a door or window open in case your cat tries to get in. Leave their bed/blanket out too for scent. In case something bad happened (like a coyote check for evidence for hair/blood and check hide spots/bushes thoroughly in case your cat is injured. Be sure to also check throughout your own home thoroughly, in/out. Attics, sheds, cars, closets, Rvs, etc. sometimes cats especially indoor only become terrified when stuck outdoors that they hide and make no movements or noise. Please keep us updated! I really hope your beautiful kitty comes home soon! If you see your cat but cant catch them, we have live traps we can provide to safely get them. missingpetpartnership.org/recovery-lostcat.php
