Mobile Responders - Wightcare - Isle of Wight Council Salary: £15,882 to £16,998 pro rata / per annum Contract Term: Permanent Contract Type: Full time Location: Newport Posted on 21 November 2014 Closing Date: Friday 5th December 2014 Nursing / Public Sector / Health & Social Care Wightcare, Enterprise House, Monks Brook, Newport Salary: Scale 3 £15,882 to £16,998 pro rata per annum (additional allowances are paid for working shifts and night duties) (All pay grades are pending the outcome of IW Council job evaluation process) Hours: 33.6 per week as an average annualised over a rolling shift pattern (the shift hours are 7.30am – 7.30pm and 7.30pm – 7.30am) OR: 18.5 per week (Flexible – Monday to Sunday) Wightcare delivers a 24/7 Community Alarm & Telecare Service for the Island on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council. This service supports vulnerable clients to remain Safe & Secure in their own home by monitoring and responding to emergency calls received via the Community Alarm system. We are co-located with colleagues from Health and Social Care in two locations. All team members will be expected to undertake training in the installation of Telecare technology along with responding to emergency call outs to clients who may have fallen or are unwell for which training will be given, it is essential you will be confident working in this environment. You will be a strong team player, clear communicator and calm in stressful situations, with the ability to deal with very complex issues in a dignified and sensitive manner. Able to provide emergency first aid and/or support for personal care should the need arise in a caring and professional manner. A minimum qualification of 4 GCSEs at grade A-C including Mathematics and English, or equivalent, is required. You will be comfortable with the use of technology, and experience in the use of a range of ICT Microsoft packages is desirable.
