Mobile and internet technology designed to bind us together has succeeded in keeping us apart. -A close sister booked an appointment with me to discuss how to publish her novel. As I was talking, she was smiling and pressing her phone. After a while she will look at me and say sorry I didnt get what you said. -After the 4th time, I calmly queried her and discovered that she was chatting with some people in Africa. -I said to her, So people in Africa are more important than the ones close to you here (we were 3 at the venue)? She replied, no! but.... -Before she could finish explaining, I walked out of our meeting venue. Lesson: This happens a lot especially with ladies. Chatting with someone in Antarctica while ignoring the people present with you. When something happens to you, how soon would they come? PLEASE let us learn Phone Ethics! Let us give first priority to the people present with us. Reply messages only when necessary and with due permission.
