Monday evening prayer!! Most Holy and Everlasting Father, we confess that we do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You. How thankful we are for the promise of Your Word that when we grieve, You give us a crown of beauty, that even when we mourn there is gladness found in You. And when we despair and feel hopeless in our circumstances, as we look to You, You will cloak us in a garment of praise. Our desire Father, is to always praise You, but we confess that often, like Peter, we look away from the face of Jesus, see the fierceness of the storm around us, sink into our circumstances and lose all ability to believe that You will fight our battles. Why is our faith so small? Why do we doubt? Forgive us Father and have mercy on us. Help us we pray! Destroy doubt in our life and make it true of us that though the fig tree does not bud (our dreams do not come to fruition…) and there are no grapes on the vines (our burdens seem endless…), though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food (our financial resources are sadly lacking…) though there are no sheep in the pen or cattle in the stalls (our worldly possessions are minimal at best…), may we still be joyful and praise Your Name for You are our God and our Savior (we have Jesus!) You are our strength, and you enable us to rise above the circumstances of our life and the cares of this world. May we follow the example of King Jehoshaphat and the army of Israel and sing and praise Your Holy Name, and leave the battles of our life in Your hands. Even in the most overwhelming situations may we choose to give thanks to You, rejoice in You, knowing that Your love endures forever. We choose this day to praise You regardless of what we see with our earthly eyes and we rejoice that our names are written in heaven because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Thank You that the victory is sure. Glory Hallelujah!! In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
