Mondays tip of the day. We are in an amazing industry that can take an average person and make them entrepreneurs and leaders. No special training or formal education! Just someone with a hope, a dream, and the will to be great! There are so many amazing companies out there to choose from. Its about finding one that meshes with who you are and what you have a passion for. Once you choose the one best for you it is important to stick with it! Its also important to respect the industry as a whole and protect the credibility and image of MLMs. Lets dive into protecting that image and what it looks like! After all, if you want to be taken as a serious business owner with integrity and credibility it will be essential to follow these rules of you plan to be successful. 1) Cross Recruiting! There are a few different ways to cross recruit. The first is contacting people you know are in other businesses with intent to try and sway them into coming to your company. It is one thing for someone in another company to approach you of their own free will and ask for more information on your business. .. its a whole nother thing when someone is being approached. Now even though i recommend that you stick with one company there may be cases where a person decides that they have found a better fit and decide to switch opportunities. Here is where i feel the worst type of cross recruiting takes place. Obviously the previous company that person was in many connections were made and the person that left also had access to several people on teams that were not even theirs. Now it is a free country and we all have the right to switch opportunities at any point. Im happy for anyone that finds their path and passion but it is not okay to directly or indirectly contact people in the previous company. If people want to know they will ask....... but using sneaky tactics to get people to ask you or bold face calling, email, or texting is not okay. This is even someone steps over the line and it is never okay. All policy and procedures in every company have this rule. Be sure you are familiarizing yourself with the policy and procedures so that you are always keeping yourself and your teams compliant. 2) protect the brand. Every company has rules to protect the distributors, the products, and the company as a whole. In our case making any medical claims what so ever is off the table. More companies have been shut down because of this. We are considered a cosmetic company and no claims that we can help, prevent, or cure any diseases can be made. Even personal testimonies are not aloud. When you signed up as an It Works Distributor you signed a contract stating you would abide by these rules and protect the company and our brand. If you see anyone on your team or any other team you should let them know right away if they have broken this rule. If they continue you should report them to compliance right away. This is not being mean it is protecting your company and the pay check that puts food on your table. If you are not sure whether or not something is compliant simply ask dont just assume and risk anything that could cause issues or worst case dismissal. 3) You are not in the printing business! Stop making your own marketing materials. Your not in the T-shirt business either. This goes back to protecting our image and brand. Stop making your own clothing, blitz cards, brochures, and signage. Many of you may be wondering whats the big deal? so let me explain why. When people begin making their own stuff you always risk the fact that #1 it wont be compliant. If every one starts making their own things its also not duplicatable. Corporate has tons of things that you can use that are approved in your back office in documents or on the It works Global facebook page. If you didnt see Mark, Pam, Mike , post it or you didnt get it in your back office or the Facebook page then do not use it. #2 watch the before and afters. You always run the risk of someone getting upset if they did not approve their pic to be shared. The only way to know for sure that it is compliant is if you got it off of the corp. Facebook page. Dont take chances ever. #3 It works global works and partners with a company that they pay to do or branding. They have the rights to our logo and the it works name. If your getting your tshirts and blitz cards made some where else that is considered copyright infringement. A huge part of protecting our brand is making sure we are purchasing everything from the It Works Store. Its just not worth it to save a buck over hurting the company or the brand. At the end of the day this all boils down to knowing your company and the rules. The first thing a person should do after signing is read through the policy and procedures thoroughly! This is your business and you should know how it works. We want It Works to be here for our childrens children and beyond. That will take everyone working together to protect our culture and our brand. You are a business owner now so research and dig in! Follow the rules and protect our brand and we will all be at the top before you know it! Have an amazing Monday! And dont forget Blitz. . Wrap. ..Repeat!
