Monty Wilkinson: Its a shame the 115th Regs story isnt better told or known. The Frederick boys came across the bloodiest sector of the bloodiest beach of D-Day, Omaha, Easy Red. He was 2nd wave, hitting the waterline around 10am. 1st wave took 80% casualties. 3rd and 4th waves ran across bodies to reach the shingle. Its a miracle any of us got to know him or shake his hand. God only knows what he ever saw there and spared us the painful details of. And so, for a kid of the 70s, what was the point of Superman or Batman, when you already knew this guy?
