Johnny Seay Dave (Kilroy) Moore Moore To Seek District Clerk Position Dave (Kilroy) Moore has filed for district clerk of the 66th judicial district in Hill County. He will be a candidate in the March Republican Primary. Moore said that he would bring a strong work ethic to the office, something that was embedded in him by his hard working family. “I am well rooted in our great state of Texas. My ancestors were among the first settlers to the state, coming here on Spanish land grants,” he pointed out. The candidate comes from a family of public servants in Liberty County, beginning with his great grandfather in 1920. All were elected to and served multiple terms as district and county judge and district and county attorney. His brother held the office of Liberty County sheriff for a number of years, and a cousin is currently in his third term as district judge. “Being from a family deeply immersed in legal proceedings provides me the understanding of how to serve diligently and competently as your district clerk. “In addition, I offer my many years’ experience in the private sector, serving as president and vice president of several national and international companies. “The responsibilities of those positions required directing an office staff of 30 to 40 persons and many more in the field, as well as forecasting and managing yearly operating budgets and approving all expenditures of the companies. “I have the leadership, organizational and administrative skills to better serve the people,” Moore added. During his time in Nashville, Tennessee, the candidate served five years on the board of directors of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and is a lifetime member of The Academy of Country Music. He also served on advisory committees for two Tennessee governors. Moore serves as an elder at Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney. “My wife, Liz, and I feel privileged to live in Hill County and are grateful for the many friends we’ve made here. “I look forward to having your vote, confidence and support as I seek this office,” he said.
